The Delta Group Florida was founded in January
1990 for the expressed purposes of disseminating the philosophy
and organizational development theories and ideas of Dr. James
R. Fisher, Jr., based on his long career in the complex organization
and from an international empirical perspective.
Dr. Fisher, a Ph.D. in organization/industrial psychology,
has written extensively and presented his ideas on four continents
and has made literally hundreds of OD interventions in both
the public and private sector in the United States and abroad.
The Delta Group Florida is dedicated exclusively to publishing
and promulgating his ideas in books, essays, seminars, consulting
work, conference appearances, and keynote speeches.
Betty A. Fisher is president and managing director of operations,
while Dr. Fisher is senior partner.
In recent years, The Delta Group Florida has broadened its
base from primarily dealing with organizational development
issues of the complex corporation to include Dr. Fisher’s
philosophical take on the societal shift from a sensate to
an ideational culture with all the trauma, confusion, and variable
influences that that shift has entailed socially and economically.
This has led to the creation of the website and blog of The
Peripatetic Philosopher, a multidimensional view of this cultural
transition at the micro and macro level. Two new books soon
to be released demonstrate this latest concept.
Who Put You in the Cage looks at this transition from the
micro level, whereas Near Journey’s End: Can the Planet
Earth Survive Self-indulgent Man looks at it from the macro
level. Both books are due out in late 2005 or early 2006.
Many of Dr. Fisher’s essays and books are posted on
The Peripatetic Philosopher blog (peripateticphilosopher.blogspot.com)
as well as on this website, and with other Internet research
engine providers.
Dr. Fisher has a limited schedule for speaking engagements
and needs a three-month advance notice. For those interested,
